Oral Surgery Services We Offer

Laser Gum Therapy — Laser gum therapy can be used to treat infected or diseased gum tissue while helping protect healthy areas. This minimally invasive approach often reduces bleeding and discomfort compared to traditional gum procedures.

Surgical Extractions — Some teeth cannot be removed with a simple extraction because they are broken, impacted, or difficult to access. A surgical extraction allows the dentist to carefully remove the tooth while protecting the surrounding bone and tissue.

Wisdom Teeth Removal — Wisdom teeth may become impacted, crowded, or difficult to keep clean. Removing problematic wisdom teeth can help prevent pain, infection, damage to nearby teeth, and other oral health concerns.

Bone Grafting — A bone graft may be recommended when there is not enough jawbone to support a dental implant. The procedure adds bone material to an area that has experienced bone loss, helping create a stronger foundation for future treatment.

Can sedation be included with my oral surgery procedure?

To help you feel relaxed and comfortable, we offer both nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation for appropriate procedures. Nitrous oxide, sometimes called laughing gas, is inhaled through a small mask and can help ease anxiety while keeping you awake and responsive. Oral conscious sedation involves taking medication before your procedure to create a deeper state of relaxation. Dr. Mualla will discuss your medical history, treatment, and comfort needs to determine which option may be right for you.

What is the recovery process like after oral surgery?

Recovery depends on the type and extent of your procedure. It is normal to experience some soreness, swelling, or mild discomfort post-treatment, particularly during the first few days. Our team will provide detailed aftercare instructions to help support proper healing. These may include eating soft foods, keeping the surgical area clean, avoiding strenuous activity, and using medications as directed. If you experience unusual pain, significant swelling, bleeding that does not improve, or other concerning symptoms, contact our office so we can help.

Are surgical procedures at the dentist expensive?

The cost of oral surgery can vary depending on the procedure, complexity of treatment, and your individual needs. We believe cost should not prevent you from receiving the dental care you need, so we offer several ways to make treatment more manageable. We accept dental insurance and FSAs and HSAs, and our in-house membership plan can help cover the cost of restorative care as well. For additional flexibility, we offer financing options through CareCredit™, Lending Club, and in-house financing, when available.
